P2P platform Lendy appoints new Head of Finance as expansion continues
Lendy, one of Europe’s leading P2P secured property platforms, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Wawrzyniak as its new Head of Finance.
Andrew was previously Head of Finance at Fund Partners, a leading fund manager, which specialises in the operation of collective investment schemes. The firm’s clients include Octopus Investments, Pictet Asset Management and Russell Investments.
Before this he worked at accountancy firm RSM Tenon and at the Australian firm ARW Chartered Accountants, where he was a partner.
Having spent nine years in fund administration and 25 years working in accounting, Andrew brings a wealth of experience in overseeing the efficient delivery of investment services.
Lendy is also pleased to announce the appointment of Ray Welsby as Portfolio & Debt Recovery Officer.
Ray joins from law firm Blake Morgan where he worked in the Commercial Recoveries team. As part of this role, he provided advice to clients on finance agreements and litigation relating to various aspects of debt recovery. He previously served a 22-year career in the Army, completing tours across the world.
Tom Blackler has also been appointed as Business Development Manager. Tom was previously a mortgage broker at one of the UK’s largest mortgage specialists and has worked in the property and finance industry for over 12 years.
Liam Brooke, Co-Founder of Lendy, says: “Andrew is one of a number of key appointments we have made over the last year as we’ve strengthened our senior team. We are looking to continuous improvements in key areas such as loan origination, due diligence, and risk management and Andrew’s appointment is an important part of that process. His unique experience across fund management and accountancy will really add an extra dimension to the team.”
“With us passing the £367m total lending mark, the appointments of Tom and Ray will support not only our loan origination targets this year, but also our important portfolio and recoveries activity, to ensure investment risk is mitigated for our investors.
“All of our new appointments will help us to continue to provide the best possible service to our 19,500-strong user base.”
Andrew Wawrzyniak, Head of Finance at Lendy, says: “I am looking forward to getting involved in this dynamic and exciting sector as Lendy moves towards full FCA market permissions.
“One of my key deliverables over my first 90 days is to develop and build out the new finance management framework to enable the development of a range of new products.
“Lendy is going places and a key part of my role will be to support the company’s growth.”
