Regatta de Blanc – The Lendy Cowes Week Experience

20/07/2017 • media

Why not join Lendy – The Property Platform at the historic and world-renowned sailing regatta, Lendy Cowes Week.

The key social and sporting event, of which Lendy has now taken the helm as title sponsor, is held annually at the end of July, in the glorious Isle of Wight town of Cowes.

Around 1,000 boats and 8,000 sailors are expected to travel to the Island, and from Lendy’s prime waterfront location on Cowes Parade, you will see them embark on some intense and exciting racing.

You can relax with a drink in hand as The Solent fills with brightly-coloured spinnaker sails as the different classes of boats battle it out throughout the week.

There will also be an opportunity for you to get among the action in an exhilarating RIB ride during your day, and joining us for a drink at the Lendy Lounge on Cowes Parade.

While Lendy Cowes Week is of course a sailing regatta, the whole town comes alive with an intoxicating festival spirit.

You will be able to explore the town’s shops, stunning buildings and cobbled streets, and enjoy some well-earned refreshments in some of the plentiful bars, cafes and restaurants.

The regatta has a host of different areas around Cowes, including the Yacht Haven, which has shops selling luxury lifestyle and clothing brands, bars, daily live music late into the night and enormous screens so you don’t miss any of the action.

At the 18th century-Northwood House – a gift to the people of Cowes in 1929 – you will find an outdoor cinema, a laid-back outdoor Ibiza-inspired bar and a gorgeous park with ancient trees to explore.

In Shepherd’s Wharf you’ll find more of the party spirit with live music and entertainment and even a nightclub.

The Isle of Wight has long-since been a celebrated place, particularly by royalty, so during your visit why not ride the legendary Chain Ferry across the River Medina to East Cowes, to visit Osborne House, the holiday home of Queen Victoria, or even immerse yourself in the art of building watercraft at the Classic Boat Museum.

We look forward to seeing you for what we believe will be the best Cowes Week yet – Lendy Cowes Week.

What to wear:

We want you to feel comfortable and safe during your day at Lendy Cowes Week, so please wear flat shoes with a good grip during the day, ready for hopping on and off boats and in case of slippery pontoons.

When out on the water, we will provide you with waterproofs and lifejackets, but you might like to bring a well-fitting cap and sunglasses to ensure you get a good view of the action out on the water.

Please feel free to bring a change of clothes for parties in the evening.

On the Lendy RIB, you will be in the capable hands of an experienced skipper. You will be given a safety briefing. RIBs are fast and nimble, so make sure you’re comfortable in your seat and feel secure before you set off.
