Lendy has expressed its pleasure at being the title sponsor for the world-famous sailing regatta on the Isle of Wight, which took place last week.

The peer-to-peer secured lending platform sponsored this year’s Cowes Week and will also be sponsoring the next two events.

Lendy hoped the event would generate name and brand awareness, as well as raising the profile of the peer-to-peer investment sector.

During the week, Lendy took part in a number of sailing events – including the Sunsail Match Fast 40 and Lendy Finance Challenge – as well as hosting a range of attendees in the Lendy guest lounge on the waterfront.

Guests who visited the lounge included TV presenters Ben Fogle and Denise van Outen (pictured below, left), while actor James Norton and Olympian Hannah Mills also attended.

After an action-packed week, Lendy hosted a fireworks spectacular on the Friday.

“We are so proud to be the title sponsor of Lendy Cowes Week 2017, the best sailing regatta anywhere in the world,” said Liam Brooke, co-founder of Lendy (pictured below, right).

“Our aim was to help invigorate the event, and it certainly feels like a very effective collaboration and the start of a very successful three-year partnership.”

“We’re not a company that likes to sit back, and I’m pleased how much we have been able to get involved in the event, from racing, to attending the many events and balls, to fundraising for the official regatta charity the Andrew Simpson Foundation.”

Lendy partnered with the Andrew Simpson Foundation, which encourages young people to take up sailing, this included auctioning off the USA team’s America’s Cup sailing helmet.

“We have been overwhelmed with the welcome and hospitality from the island people and the sailing community, and are already excited about putting on an even better show next year,” said Paul Riddell, head of marketing and communications at Lendy.

Liam added: “As a fast-growing company, we’ve also raised awareness of who we are, which was another of our aims this week.

“I’d like to thank the Cowes Week Ltd team, the Royal Yacht Squadron and the Royal London Yacht Club for their very warm hospitality, and for the generosity of every single person we met during our time here.

“We can’t wait for 2018!”
