We were established in 2012 and now, six years on, we’re ready for our next exciting phase of development, with Cowes being the opportunity to engage hundreds of new brokers, borrowers and investors in our solutions to their investment and funding problems.
During the week, our brokers and borrowers learnt about our unique funding model, which blends traditional P2P with new sources of funding from business and high-net-worth investors. This helps us keep both our lending rates competitive and to provide more certainty of funding. We also unveiled our new flexible commercial first and second charge product, offering rates from 0.8% and terms of up to 24 months.
- Lendy to showcase new commercial product at Lendy Cowes Week
- Former HSBC corporate banking head joins Lendy as NED
- The market opportunity has never been better for specialist lenders
Alongside this, investors were introduced to Lendy Wealth, which offers initially two auto-invest products, the first paying up to 6%, the second up to 10% pa. Early interest has been strong.
Over the course of the eight-day sailing regatta, our borrow and investor guests competed in the Sunsail Match First 40 Challenge – braving blisteringly hot sunshine one day and hellishly high winds and rain the next – to come second in the seven-day race out of 30 perfectly matched yachts. Other highlights included a new Cowes Week TV studio in our Lendy VIP lounge; our Lendy Parade Stage, incorporating the New Generation festival that brought the essence of P2P to the shoreside with a day of crowdfunded bands, and a collaboration with the 1851 Trust charity to inspire the next generation to become innovators of the future through their STEM initiatives, many of which hosted by Lendy. And we were especially honoured this year to be the main sponsor for Lendy Ladies Day, celebrating the wealth of outstanding female talent on the water, with round-the-world yachtswoman Tracy Edwards MBE taking the top award.
We believe our approach made a real difference and, as title sponsor of Lendy Cowes Week, we wanted to build a lasting legacy, to not only invigorate the 192-year-old regatta, but to fly the flag for the specialist investment sector that’s doing so much to disrupt the old banking order with its fresh and pioneering approach to finance.
